Call today Freephone 0800 988 2155 Training & Facilitation Skills programme - working in partnership with the Fire Service College We are pleased to announce that the Fire Service College at Moreton-in-Marsh is working in partnership with us. We have designed and are running a training and facilitation programme for the college, which we will deliver on a regular basis on their behalf. Candidates will achieve the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTTLLS) qualification, in order to meet the government's Life Long Learning UK (LLLUK) requirements for all FE teachers to be qualified. PTTLLS is the initial award, which has been developed to provide a threshold licence to teach in the FE sector in England. This course will also be accredited as a Coventry University module and will attract 40 CAT points. We have been involved in the development of trainers and assessors since our formation in 1990. In recent years our work with the UK's Fire and Rescue Services has resulted in an understanding of the challenges and opportunities they face. Having a qualification to teach is one thing, but having the skills to train is another. The course, being provided by us, will be delivered both in a manner that is highly tailored to the needs of the Fire and Rescue Service and consequently the Fire Service College. This highly interactive and participative course will be delivered using techniques and skills, which training staff will be encouraged to adopt, including some of the traditional instructional methods and techniques as well as embracing more facilitative and interactive methods. This fast-pased, blended programme will be delivered over two modules throughout 2009/10, enabling more experienced trainers the opportunity to polish their skills and new trainers the opportunity to learn quickly using a range of skills and methods. Initially, this programme will be delivered at the Fire Service College, but can also be offered on an Outreach basis with sufficient numbers.
